To live the lifestyle most suited to you, especially when it comes to exercise and having a beautiful body, it is important to find out what is unique about your body type. Have you ever wondered why some people gain weight so easily while others can almost eat any amount of food yet still remain thin? The fact is that there are different types of body types. After millions of years of evolution, three basic body types have survived and research shows most of us are the type that gains weight easily.

找到最適合的生活型態後,要了解你適合何種運動和屬於何種完美的體態?因此找出你獨一無二的體態是非常重要的,你曾經想過為什麼有些人容易發胖嗎?而有些人吃的很多卻依然很瘦?原因就在於每個人的體態不一樣,體態是經過百萬年的進化演進型成的,研究報導發現有三種不同的體態,詳細介紹如下:

The majority of human population fall into the endomorph category as this body type is best able to store fat. This is a result of the fact that ancient people did not always have a stable food supply so those people who could store fat the best had the best chance of survival. When food became hard to find, all the skinny people died out while the fat could live long enough to eat again.

在人類的演化過程中,大多數人屬於肥胖體質,這種體態最適合囤積脂肪,這是因為古代的人類常常缺乏食物供給,所以人們需要囤積脂肪以防食物缺乏時難以生存,而缺乏食物時,肥胖體態的人可以度過難關,而瘦長體態的人較容易餓死

The result is that about 80% of the human population falls somewhere on the above chart under endomorph although few people are 100% endomorph and are either slightly ectomorph or mesomorph. The pure endomorph male resembles a Japanese sumo wrestler and in women is most readily seen in thick legs and calves. When these type of people lose weight they always seem to look heavy somehow.

研究顯示大約80%屬於肥胖體質,另外20%屬於瘦長體態和肌肉型體態,原始的男性肥胖體態和日本的相撲選手相似,而女性肥胖體態則有較粗的腿和大肚子,這些也是肥胖體質的人不易變瘦的原因

The body type everyone seems to look up to these days is the ectomorph: tall, thin, and without a lot of body curves. Most fashion models are chose because they have this body type. These people find it hard to gain weight and like the movie star Bruce Lee don't have a lot of muscle even though they train hard.

瘦長體態是人人稱羨的體型,高挑,纖細,大多數的時尚模特兒都是此種體態,他們不容易變胖,例如知名電影明星李小龍就是瘦長體態的主要代表,他的肌肉並不發達亦不容易發胖

The body type a lot of men try to achieve is the mesomorph with big muscles and little body fat. Women with this body type have a relatively thin body yet their body has big breasts and well curved. Like ectomorphs, they also find it hard to get fat and have the advantage that exercise makes their muscles grow easily.

許多男性試著鍛鍊肌肉,希望有肌肉型的體態,女性有此體態的通常胸腔的比例較大,肌肉型體態的人亦不容易發胖,而且此種體態的人鍛鍊肌肉要比一般人容易

As the above chart shows, most people are not pure Ectomorphs, Endomorphs, or Mesomorphs but are somewhere in between. To find out your body type, look through the following descriptions:

就如以上圖表所示: 大多數的人都不是單純的肥胖體態,瘦長體態或肌肉體態,但是都介於這三種之間,從圖表中找出哪種體態與你最接近

Do you have a:

A high forehead 額頭較高
Receding chin 下巴較堅
Narrow shoulders and hips 肩與臀部較窄
A narrow chest and abdomen 軀幹較瘦
Thin arms and legs 手腳較細
Little muscle and fat 肌肉與脂肪都較少

If yes, you are one of the few percentage of lucky people for whom it doesn't matter that much what you eat since it is hard for you to gain weight. You have a model type body, often seen on TV and commercials

如果你有以上所述的特徵,恭喜你是少數幸運的人,不管你吃多少都不容易發胖,你是屬於瘦長體態,也是標準模特兒與明星身材

Your exercise requirement is the minimum, 12 miles of walking a week plus stretching. You can get all this through our ewalking classes or Team Yoga classes. If you want to gain weight, you need to get into serious anaerobic exercise like body building and eat a special diet determined through our body reading sessions.

   Do you have a

A pear shaped body 梨形身材
A rounded head 圓臉
Wide hips and shoulders 肩與臀部都較寬
Wider front to back rather than side to side.   腹部突出,軀幹的厚度大於寬度
A lot of fat on the body, upper arms and thighs  在軀幹、上臂與大腿容易囤積脂肪

 If yes, you have a endomorphic body type. This body type requires regular ewalking classes that includes aerobic and anaerobic exercises to boost metabolism. As this body type has the hardest time losing weight, the diet and lifestyle in general need careful adjustment. This can be done through a body reading session.

如果你的體態如上所述,你是屬於肥胖體態,你必須有規律的運動,包括有氧和無氧運動來增強新陳代謝,這種體態不容易變瘦,所以在飲食和運動上都必須仔細規劃

Do you have a:

A cubical head 頭形有稜有角
A wedge shaped body,  wide broad shoulders, narrow hips 倒三角形的體型
Muscled arms and legs 手腳肌肉強壯
Narrow from front to back rather than side to side.  軀幹的厚度比寬度小
A minimum amount of fat  體脂肪比例較低

If yes, you are also one of the few percentage of lucky people for whom looking good is easy since you are a Natural athlete

如果你有以上特徵,你是少數肌肉型體態,這也是天生的運動員體格.

Your lifestyle should include at least 12 miles walking a week plus regular anaerobic exercise and stretching as taught in our ewalking and Team Yoga classes. Even though what you eat does not necessarily affect your fat levels, you still should eat a diet suited to your lifestyle needs. You can find out what that diet should be through a body reading consultation.
